My review of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: The story was well laid out as to keep a three-hour movie interesting. As usual Cate Blanchett was amazing. Mostly the audience watches Brad Pitt's changing appearance rather than his acting. I felt it was filmed like a book. It wasn't the usual eye-popping, action-packed movie, but there was a lot of life in it. The moral of the story being don't waste a moment of time you are given. If you think about how helpless we become in old age and compare it to how helpless we are as children, this movie shines a light on this comparison, whether we like it or not. The theme throughout seemed to be nothing lasts. Overall it's very interesting and holds you until almost the end where Benjamin stops writing in his diary and the audience is left hanging. I particularly liked that the movie was character-strong rather than relying on special-effects. Though the movie is long, it's worth seeing. -Amy
Lisa, our Head Lab Technician, headed out on the Saco River in southern Maine in 60 degree weather December 28, 2008. She said: "Our journey was cut short due to the ice jam about 1 mile down river. The ice and snow were beautiful all the way down the river. We were able to capture the quiet."
Lisa also captured this sunrise photo above on New Year's Day.
